RISD Museum VR Installation

This was a Unity-based VR experience installed in the RISD Museum in which I scraped Instagram photos of the main gallery and used the photos to texture a model of the museum’s walls. When wearing the headset, the user could navigate the space and attempt to line up their perspective with the perspective of the Instagram user who took the photo. The project looked to engage with the communal (and now digital) ways we interact with museums and the varying visitor perspectives. To complete this project, I LiDAR scanned the room to create the geometry on which to add the photos. I modeled the scene in Blender.
